Electric vehicles can be used as location-independent power sources. Vehicle to Grid System ( V2G ) consists of a two-way charging unit, and a power management system that can handle off-grid renewable energy sources such as solar panels and wind turbines.

With this equipment the owner of electric SAM can charge off-peak energy with cheaper fares, later then consume the energy stored in the battery of the vehicle for household needs during the period of higher fares and even resell it with a profit to public grid. Electricity produced in solar panels or wind turbines can be used to charge the vehicle's battery, to power devices at home and business or released to the public grid.

All SAM vehicles will soon be adjusted to V2G technology, initially as a factory option, and ultimately as a standard .
